New York City

Beyond my window, a field of  gloden

flowers

They sway in dance with the wind

Lovers in wait for the heat of the night

The Nightclubs and Bars

Beyond my window, they stare upon the valley in awe

Glorious giants of rock, soil and moss

Romans entranced with the blood of the arena

The Stockmarket

Beyond my window, dreams wrapped in cotton candy

They move to the beat of a Tango

Swaying along in the sky

Puffed up egos of the rich groaping for the dollar signs

The Casinos

Beyond my window, tears of salted heaven

twinkle in the sky

They drop down to the thirsty Serengeti

drenching the soul

The sorrow of the poor, the sick and the hungry

The Homeless

Beyond my window, A black Cape bathes the sky

No stars to see, no crickets chirp

Just another day gone by in New York City.
